School year 2011-2012 has begun. ZPS is gearing off with a lot of activities that will amaze and keep you entertained. Not to forget the fact that our little Zakherites will be learning a lot of new things this year.
We started our competitions with a blast of colour. Our colouring competition which had a theme of "Peace" coincided with UN Peace Day celebration. Colouring sheets were prepared prior to the competition and distributed to different classes. What came out was an array of colourful interpretations by students from Grade 1-6.
UnitedColours of Zak
Art and recycling at it's best.
Why Zak?
Zak is derived from our school's name which is Zakher Private School. I made this blog to let everyone see what our children have done in our recycling projects. I have seen a lot of websites showing school projects and I just thought that our children have been doing a lot of great recycling art works that should be shown to motivate other children and schools to do the same. It doesn't mean that other schools haven't started on recycling projects but they have started on other "projects" not related to art. The state of our environment is rapidly deteriorating and it is good to see a whole lot of people who are more aware of this and who are trying to do something about this. That is why it is better to start them young.
Here in Zakher ,we try to make the children learn and understand the importance of recycling. Not only is it good for the environment but good for the pocket as well. This blog is committed to show everyone the beauty of recycling through creative art and a simple discarded material which took shape and purpose in the hands of a child.
